About the event
About Lilia Beattie:
I was born in Hawaii, a land without native terrestrial reptiles or amphibians, and yet shared a love of frogs with my father. I am an advocate for habitat conservation and restoration to maximize biodiversity and healthy ecosystems. I am the Chair of Curriculum for the NWA Master Naturalists, the Founder and President of NWA FrogWatch, and faculty of biology for NWA Community College. I am the proud mother of two fabulous girls. My talented husband and I have built a beautiful home in the historic district. I will be starting my PhD in Entomology at the UofA in Fayetteville in the Fall where I will focus on native plant and pollinator biodiversity. If you would like to be able to name the frogs and toads you hear calling around town, I will be happy to train your ear.
About Joyce Hicks:
Joyce Hicks is a Arkansas Wildlife Rehabilitator at NW Arkansas Turtle Rehabilitation Center in Bella Vista. Care and treatment is offered for all sick or injured wild aquatic and terrestrial turtles, as well as exotics, abandoned by owners. I treat turtles from across the state. The goal is to get wildlife back to the wild, where possible.
